Very World Cup Fashion

If you’re backing England to win recapture the glory of 1966 and win the World Cup then no doubt you’ll be excited to see how Fabio Capello’s team perform in the upcoming match against Algeria.

If you’re a bit like me however, and were a bit disappointed to see the WAGs banned from the World Cup – which means no fabulous pitch-side outfits – then you might be interested in a bit of light hearted World Cup fun in the form of a fashion face-off.

Mega fashion site Very.co.uk have come up with an interesting World Cup promotion, of sorts, which sees the World Cup countries fighting it out to be declared the most stylish country!

There’s an individual look for each country and for each World Cup match two countries will battle it out, with the team with the most votes will go through to the quarter finals and then the semi finals before the top two fashion look go head to head to be crowned the winner.

England went up against the USA and I’m glad to say they came out on top and are already through to the quarter finals – if only it were that easy to progress in the World Cup itself! England has a retro cool look with plenty of festival ready clothes including a parka and funky blue wellies. Next up were the World Cup hosts South Africa against Mexico. South Africa’s subtle safari chic with gorgeous printed maxi dress will join England in the quarter finals.

Currently it’s Brazil vs. Korea with Brazil being represented with a lush tropical vibe – plenty of prints and bright flamenco colours with some blinging accessories while Korea is far more understated and is oozing military cool with plenty of khaki colours, with some pretty girly accessories to soften the tone.

You can get in on the fashion action and vote for your favourite looks over at www.very.co.uk today. Make sure you keep an eye out for England’s upcoming face-off, which will be against group B’s winner South Africa, and help keep us in the competition!
